REC says the move comes after “an overall assessment of the current financial situation”. It explains that the demand for solar products is weak due to the economic uncertainty, and that financing for new investment projects is harder to come by. The group adds that the subscription will begin on 29 June.
A decrease in the amount of solar installations has reduced both the demand and prices for solar modules, which in turn has started to affect the supply-and-demand balances and prices further up the value chain.
