Obama has indicated he will double renewable energy production in the next three years as part of his economic stimulus plan.
“I think it’s going to be extremely difficult to get there in three years,” Bodman said.
Bodman said the biggest challenge will be lack of manufacturing capacity, particularly for wind turbines. In comparison, boosting solar power may be relatively low-hanging fruit due to the wealth of existing companies and supplies.
