Ormat said the contract it signed with the lender, which is known by its Spanish acronym as BCIE, calls for the supply, supervision, start-up and testing of the 150 Megawatt facility that will be built at Las Pailas steam field.
The Costa Rican national electricity and telecommunications company, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), will buy electricity from the yet-to-be-built plant.
Ormat said the contract is expected to be completed in about 18 months from the contract start date.
