In New Delhi Tuesday OPIC president Elizabeth Littlefield “reaffirmed OPIC’s commitment to supporting renewable energy projects in India”.

Specifically, the agency is advancing two private equity funds to invest $600m in the sector in Asia, and support the US-India Partnership to Advance Clean Energy.

Indian wind, solar, hydropower and biomass projects will see about $360m of that investment. OPIC expects to commit another $520m of financing and insurance to Indian solar projects by the end of this year.
