LDK gave no reason for the resignation of Louis Tung-jung Hsieh, chairman of its audit committee and an independent board member.
Hsieh, who is president and chief financial officer (CFO) of the Beijing-based New Oriental Education & Technology Group, told Bloomberg he had quit LDK’s board “for personal reasons”.
Shares in New York-listed LDK at one stage yesterday fell to $6.05, their lowest in almost a year, and will open today at $6.37.
