The plant will have an installed capacity of 530 megawatts (MW). It is expected to be completed in 2015 at a cost of around AUS$4.3bn ($3.5bn). The project remains contingent on the results of a one-year feasibility study currently being undertaken.

Under the agreement, Mitsubishi Heavy will be the exclusive manufacturer, supplier and builder of the facility, including its carbon dioxide recovery and storage system, which will lower emissions by as much as 90%.
