The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is to be established 26 January in Berlin, Germany, with 60 countries having indicated they will sign the founding treaty.
“Abu Dhabi will extend all support to this initiative and would be ready to host the headquarters of the proposed agency in Masdar,” said Sultan al-Jaber, chief executive of the Masdar Initiative, speaking at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi.
