Voters trust the opposition Greens to best manage the transition away from nuclear power, according to a new opinion poll.
For 29% of voters polled, energy policy has a “great“ or “very great“ influence on their voting behaviour, with another 39% saying it will have some impact on the way they cast their ballot.
“The Energiewende will influence the federal elections 2013 considerably,” says Gero Lücking, energy director at the electricity supplier LichtBlick, which commissioned YouGov to carry out the poll.
