The wind farm will be the first in Iberdrola’s massive Dobrogea Project, which has a total planned capacity of around 1.5GW, to be built between 2011 and 2017. The Mihail Viteazu wind farm will use 50 Gamesa 2MW turbines and will be constructed by Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción.
The wind farm was developed by Iberdrola’s local partner Eólica Dobrogea, which is controlled by Swiss engineering firm NEK Umwelttechnik AG y and the Romanian companies C-Tech, and Rokura.
