The Elm Creek project was initially developed by local farmers who wanted to get into the wind-energy business. After agreeing a power-purchase agreement with Great River Energy, they then handed over the project to Iberdrola Renewables to build and operate.
“Elm Creek, like the Trimont Area Wind Farm before it, was born in the minds of local farmers,” said Tim Seck, director of development for Iberdrola Renewables.
