More than 100 signatories to Irena were due to meet in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt on 29 June to set up the organisation and decide where to locate its headquarters. Denmark withdrew its candidacy earlier this month, leaving Germany’s Bonn, Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City and Austria’s Vienna. Officials from member countries say that Bonn and Masdar are the only candidates with serious support.
