The two companies’ Biocantaber joint venture won the projects in the Cantabrian wind tender in July last year. Gamesa will now supply turbines and construct five wind farms called La Cruz del Marqués, El Escuchadero, Peñas Gordas, La Matanela y Las Matas, in the region of Puerto del Escudo.
Gamesa will produce the “principle components” for the wind farms in its Cantabrian factory at Cantarey, according to Iberdrola.
