Late last year, Hydro Green Energy was awarded the country’s first ever commercial hydrokinetic license for its project in Minnesota.
Specifically, Hydro Green Energy is installing two turbines downstream from the 4.4 Megawatt hydropower plant on US Army Corps of Engineers' Lock & Dam No. 2 near Hastings, Minnesota.
Water flowing through the turbines will generate up to 70-kilowatts of power that will supplement the hydropower plant.
