The EC targeted €1.25bn toward installing CCS systems at 11 coal-fired power plants across Europe, including four in Britain, according to press reports.
The proposal would see €500m spent on offshore wind projects, including €40m for a 250MW farm near Aberdeen, Scotland. Another €150m would be spent on an offshore wind grid linking Britain, Holland, Germany, Ireland and Denmark in the North Sea.
