The two companies have formed a 50:50 joint venture which will own and operate the Helioenergy 1 and 2 concentrating solar power (CSP) plants. The plants, which use parabolic trough technology, are located in Ecija, near Seville, which is one of the best areas in Europe in terms of solar radiation. The two plants will start operation in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
