The Danish agricultural sector – especially the pork industry – is a major greenhouse gas emitter that minister of climate and energy, Connie Hedegaard, wants to convert into an energy producer through an initiative called “green growth”.
Biogas-production facilities will be planned and built all around the country, supported by government-funding of DRr255m from 2010-2012 to achieve the target
“Green growth will ensure that climate change gas emissions from the agricultural sector will be substantially reduced,” Hedegaard says.
