The new plant at the Corus Redcar site on Teesside – which is fast becoming a manufacturing hub for the UK offshore sector – will potentially create 220 jobs, Corus says.
Jon Bolton, Corus Long Products Director, says that the company is moving now in order to establish its position in the sector.
“The development of a new plant is dependent on us securing enough orders for monopiles,” says Bolton.
