“This special provision continues the deplorable practice of using the tax code to favor certain groups over others. Whenever the government protects a particular industry, as it has with wind energy production, the industry tends to remain dependent on it,” they wrote .
The groups led by Americans for Prosperity, funded by the billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, whose privately-held Koch Industries includes oil interests, argue that a special tax break for two decades is enough.
