Recharge reported in July that officials had proposed upwardly revising an earlier 15GW target, which was itself an increase on an initial ambition of just 5GW under China’s 12th five-year plan for renewable energy.
The new target for the 2011-15 period represents a further advance as lower equipment prices make PV more attractive.
