Mining minister Santiago Gonzalez, says: “We are taking a big step forward,” adding that interested companies have until 30 June to collect the tender packages from the ministry.
He says the areas being tendered are equivalent to approximately 33% of the requests for geothermal concessions that the government has received until now.
“Given the interest that the development of geothermal energy has created in our country, if the companies which will obtain these concessions are in the right conditions, we could tender a much higher number of areas in the near future.”
