Rich nations that refuse to renegotiate Kyoto will have to make “comparable commitments”, says lead Chinese negotiator Su Wei.
China expects the Durban ministerial-level meeting, from 28 November to 9 December, to solidly advance the negotiating process in both working groups, one under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the other the Kyoto Protocol, he says.
“Long-term climate funding will be another focus in Durban,” he adds.
