It could now face sanctions from regulators, and the state of AMSC's finances following a rift with Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Sinovel, its key customer, remains shrouded in mystery.
AMSC had already asked the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a 15-day extension to its original 31 May deadline to file its 2010/11 results, for the year ending 31 March.
