Growing discontent from poorer countries is threatening to completely derail preparatory talks for the Copenhagen climate summit in Barcelona, with the developing countries increasingly blaming rich countries for climate change - and for a lack of firm committment to counter it . UN officials were forced to step in as 55 African countries called for negotiations around a new climate change treaty to be suspended until rich countries have made progress on emissions reductions.
