A final decision about whether to grant planning consent to the Ouse Renewable Energy Plant near Selby will now be taken by the Government’s Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
Should the £700m plant get the go ahead it is expected that construction will begin in 2010 and that it will start generating enough renewable energy to power over 500,000 homes by 2013.
