Technip says the project – including 38 array and eight substation cables – was the first to use its Pull-In Module system.

The Aberdeen-based company claims deployment of the Pull-In Module brought a reduction in individual cable pull-in time of about 60% “despite prolonged periods of standby due to bad weather”.

It also boosted safety by minimising potentially-hazardous heavy lifts from barge to turbine.

The 75-turbine Lincs is being developed off eastern England by UK utility Centrica, Danish group Dong and Siemens Project Ventures.

The wind farm is expected to be finished later this year.
