“Yes, we are in talks,” Michael Hannibal, chief executive for Siemens Offshore Wind, told Recharge at WindEnergy Hamburg. “There are quite a number of projects which are under discussion in the German market. Let’s see what happens.”

He said talks included possible orders for Siemens 4MW and its newer 6MW offshore platforms.

Just after the EEG reform had been enacted in early August, utilities Vattenfall and Stadtwerke München announced a financial close for the 288MW Sandbank project in the German North Sea that will use 72 of Siemens’ 4MW offshore turbines.
