Recharge was first to report in June that the Korean group was pulling back from the offshore sector and had halted plans to test its 7MW drive train at the UK's National Renewable Energy Centre (NAREC).
Samsung was initially silent on the matter, before finally confirming it would carry out a strategic review of its plans for the sector with no timetable for its completion.
