Less than a month ago, Ningxia-based Hanas New Energy had already ordered 50MW from Vestas. With the order announced today, Hanas’ portfolio of Vestas turbines reaches 350MW.
The manufacturer says its 2MW platform with a larger rotor diameter is ideal for low wind sites.
Delivery of the first wind turbine is expected to start in the second quarter of 2014.
Hanas New Energy plans to build up to a total of 1GW in wind capacity in Ningxia in north western China, Vestas says.
