The 100-metre-long manufacturing and pre-assembly plant, to be located between the Kings and Queens Dock at Swansea Bay, would receive major turbine components from across Britain, for machining into sixteen 7.2-metre diameter turbines for the giant development.
The announcement comes as TLP released a new report highlighting the economic benefits of the project to the UK's engineering, construction, steel and manufacturing industries, including contracts totalling over £800m for the Swansea Bay demonstrator and over £6bn for a first full-scale project near Cardiff.
