"We're proud to be able to use almost our entire roof surface for solar electricity production," says MVN managing director Hans Kuhn.
The more than 20,000 solar panels will provide electricity for some 1,300 homes.
Swiss solar company Tritec developed and built the PV plant, MVN said.
Kuhn stressed the plant makes an important contribution to the country's energy transition toward renewables.
Switzerland, despite having radiation levels compared to southern Germany where PV arrays and rooftop installations are abundant, is a solar and renewables laggard.
