Siemens Gamesa and a clutch of its key suppliers announced plans for a major ramp-up of turbine production facilities in Taiwan, in another signal that offshore wind’s balance of power is shifting east.
The world’s biggest supplier of offshore wind turbines will expand its nacelle assembly facility in Taichung as part of creation of a “regional industrial hub” with the capability to supply latest and future models for export.
