A Japanese-French-Egyptian consortium will advance a 500MW wind farm in Eqypt – its second large-scale project in the country – after signing an offtake deal with a state entity, said one of the partners involved.

Orascom Construction said its consortium with Engie, Toyota Tsusho and Eurus will start development work on the project in Ras Ghareb after concluding the offtake agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), and a land-rights deal with the country’s New & Renewable Energy Authority.
