Lakeview would be Iberdrola's first owned and operated biomass plant in North America. The company has yet to select an engineering, procurement and construction contractor, nor has it purchased a boiler for Lakeview or stated its cost estimate. The International Energy Agency puts the typical capital cost of this type of biomass plant at $3-5/MW, which suggests a cost for Lakeview of $72m-120m.
