Beatrice, in the Outer Moray Firth off eastern Scotland, will be built after a final investment decision (FID) by owners SSE (40%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (35%) and China’s SDIC Power, which bought the 25% stake in the project formerly held by Spain’s Repsol.
Offshore construction begins next year with full operations due in 2019.
Beatrice will be sited in water depths of 35 to 56-metres using jacket foundations.
