The regional director for environmental protection in Gdansk has approved the construction of 120 turbines for a wind project with 600MW capacity, the agency's press officer Sławomir Sowula told Recharge.
The decision for another 600MW is expected later this year.
Polenergia plans to start building the offshore array at 22km from the municipality of Smołdzino Leba in Pomerania in 2019 and commission it in 2021-2022.
