Daimler to build €500m battery factory in Germany

Carmaker Daimler’s Accumotive unit is starting construction on a €500m ($544m) lithium-ion battery factory in the Saxon town of Kamenz, getting serious in its race to compete both in electric vehicles and energy storage with rivals such as US company Tesla.
