But can such a large onshore machine really sell on the mass market?

When Enercon announced its E-126 EP4 platform and the initial 4.2MW model earlier this year, the company said the new machine was designed to become its “bread and butter” turbine.

“The trend in onshore wind turbines in general is towards greater rotor diameters and higher hub heights,” Enercon managing director Nicole Fritsch-Nehring tells Recharge.

Yet
