Solar Millennium may also be in line for $1.9bn in conditional loan guarantees for Blythe from the Department of Energy. The company says it is in "advanced discussions" with the department "to secure debt financing for the first two units at Blythe and is also in talks with investors regarding project equity and tax equity in conjunction with its financial advisers, Citigroup and Deutsche Bank".
World's largest parabolic-trough project wins federal approval
US Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar has approved Solar Millennium's plans to build what would be the world's largest solar parabolic-trough plant. It now has all the necessary permits.
