Veterans of the 1944 Normandy landings have reportedly protested at the siting of a wind farm about 16km offshore from the Juno beach where some 2,500 mainly Canadian troops died.
"The beaches are designed to preserve the memory of those who fought for freedom. They should not be desecrated," says David Churchcroft, an infantryman who took part in the D-Day landings.
