BRUSSELS: Investigators are to pose as carbon traders as part of a Europe-wide investigation into the €50m ($69.4m) theft of carbon credits, after urgent talks aimed at stopping criminal gangs. UK Energy Minister Greg Barker has called in the country's Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) to help tackle gangs mounting cyber-thefts that threaten to cripple the EU's carbon-trading system..
He has also offered British expertise to help strengthen the security of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) in other EU countries.
