The study, by the Institute for Marine Resources and Ecosystem Studies at Wageningen University, found that certain bird species gave a wide berth to turbines at the Egmond aan Zee development in the North Sea, but the towers provided a new habitat for seabed organisms such asmussels, anemones and crabs, and a safe haven for fish and marine mammals.
