Mustang Marine will provide fabrication services to construct the so-called DeltaStream device at Pembroke Port; marine contracting specialist Keynvor Morlift will install the turbine; and subsea cabling firm JDR Cable Systems will design and manufacture a 1.5km long high-voltage cable.
Earlier this summer Tidal Energy was awarded a £1.6m EU grant to fund the deployment of the tidal energy generator. Harbour trials of the device will take place in Milford Haven later this year, before the unit is deployed in Ramsey Sound, off the Pembrokeshire coast in 2014.
