Cameron — who came to office pledging to lead “the greenest government ever” — needs to back Davey strongly and ignore the misplaced cries of MPs who seem hellbent on destroying a fast-emerging industry. One only has to look at Germany and Scotland to see that, if left to flourish, renewables can create thousands of jobs, and offer a timely boost to the economy.
