Greenpeace activists tried to install a 25-metre-high inflatable wind turbine outside Brazil's Congress, to push for the renewable-energy bill that has been languishing since 2009. Four demonstrators were detained by the Senate's legislative police, according to Greenpeace, as protesters attemptedto keep their tower erect for two hours. The bill, which offers subsidies for wind, solar and other renewables, and is still to be voted on, is considered necessary to guarantee Brazil's future.
