The plants will create more than 1,500 jobs and help the province achieve its target of sourcing 15% of its energy from renewables by 2030. It is anticipated that SunEdison will reinvest a percentage of profits from the deal in development of the local economy, and find local partners to help build and install the PV power plants.
SunEdison to build plants in South Korea
SunEdison has reached a non-binding memorandum of understanding with a provincial government in South Korea to build 400MW of solar plants by the end of 2013.
