Seattle: Solar-power tower developer BrightSource Energy has raised $200m in new equity financing, adding to its already substantial cash position ahead of an ambitious US project construction plan. The "Series E" funding takes the amount of equity the California company has attracted to $530m.
The financing came from existing investors.
France's Alstom contributed $75m in this round, which, when added to the $55m it invested last year and its Mediterranean and African project development partnership with BrightSource, makes it the developer's second-largest shareholder.BrightSource
