London: German concentrating solar power specialist Solar Millennium has walked away from negotiations with former chief executive Utz Claassen, leaving the fate of his controversial €9m ($12.7m) signing bonus to be determined by the courts. Claassen kicked off a chaotic year for Solar Millennium by quitting in March 2010, just 74 days after taking the post. Since then, he has steadfastly refused to return his signing bonus, arguing that he deserves it.
