German wind turbine manufacturer Siemens deserves to be taken seriously. It has all the muscle of one of the world's biggest engineering groups and decades of accumulated expertise in the wind turbine business through Denmark's Bonus, which it bought to build up its business in the sector. Siemens has opened new factories in China and the US in recent months and plans new facilities in Canada, the UK, India, Russia and Brazil.
