FORT WORTH: Siemens Energy has won an order from utility Minnesota Power for 35 of its 3MW SWT-3.0-101 direct-drive turbines for the Bison 2 project in North Dakota.. The machines will be among the largest in use for onshore wind in North America. Financial terms were not released, but the award came after a competitive bidding process.
The deal includes transport, installation and commissioning of the 35 turbines, as well as service and maintenance.
