Brisbane: Listed energy-storage technology company RedFlow has installed the first of its megawatt-class systems in conjunction with Australia's largest rooftop solar PV facility. The 1.22MW PV system at the University of Queensland in Brisbane is using12 RedFlow zinc-bromine battery modules. The company plans to roll out successively larger electricity-storage systems.
RedFlow chief executive Phillip Hutchings says: "Having this unit showcased along with such a large solar PV array will help us demonstrate it to customers from around the world."
